How do I publish a book?
Once you have either uploaded a book to LiveCarta or written a book on the platform yourself, you will want to set final options for your book and know what to expect as you take the final steps towards publishing on LiveCarta.
-
Open your unpublished book located within “My Library”, and click the “Publish” button to begin the final steps to submit your book for publishing on LiveCarta.
-
Select a “Discipline” and discipline “Sub-category” for your book from the available drop down menus. Once selected, click “Next”.
-
If you work for a university, you will have the opportunity to indicate “Yes” or “No” and which university you work for from the drop down menus. You may also enter your title at the university in the available text box. Once selected, click “Next”.
-
Here, you may decide a price for your book, or choose to publish the book for free, and select a publish date from the drown calendar interface. You may also select no price if you intend to distribute your book for free.
-
Check the box to agree to the terms of service, then hit the “Publish” button.
-
While LiveCarta’s team must manually review your submission before publishing, you will see your submission in “My Library”, and it will be labeled with the “Pending Approval” status.
-
Once LiveCarta has reviewed your submission, a member of the team will reach out to you to confirm pricing (including cost and list price of a printed version if this option is selected), royalty settings, copyright information, and more. Average time for review is about 10 work days. Please inquire about the royalties you can get by contacting LiveCarta support at support@livecarta.com. Quality issues and inappropriate content may result in a rejection of the submission.
-
After confirmation, LiveCarta will share a licensing agreement and after the agreement is signed by both parties your book will be approved by admins and made available for purchase on LiveCarta.
