How do I make a minor revision after publishing? Can I correct typos or update broken links after publishing?
You can use the “Make Minor Revision” function if you need to make small corrections (limited to 800 characters) in books you've authored and already published, such as fixing typos and misspellings, factual mistakes, broken links, etc. For changes larger than this, refer to the article on "Creating New Edition".
Minor revisions can be done from "My Library" and from inside the book:
-
- From "My Library" select the “All Materials”, “All Books”, or “Original Books” tab on the left side panel to locate your book. Next, click on the three-dot menu icon below your published book and select “Make Minor Revision”.
- From inside the book, select “Options” in the top right corner and then select “Make Minor Revision”.
- From "My Library" select the “All Materials”, “All Books”, or “Original Books” tab on the left side panel to locate your book. Next, click on the three-dot menu icon below your published book and select “Make Minor Revision”.
-
- Read through the pop-up information that appears and select “Make a Revision” if your changes meet the guidelines.
- Go into the “Chapters” tab and find the part of the book that needs editing, make your changes, and then hit “Publish Revisions” All existing electronic copies of your book get updated, including copies purchased prior to your revision.
- Read through the pop-up information that appears and select “Make a Revision” if your changes meet the guidelines.
Please note: making minor revisions in the book may change how the content is distributed over pages. Fixing one letter typos should not affect the paging, but slightly bigger corrections may cause page numbers in newer printed versions to differ slightly from older copies.
