How to create Self-Assessment quizzes for books?
The Self-Assessment Quiz tool helps authors, educators, and academic specialists make books more interactive and engaging.
At a glance: Quizzes can be added to books in two ways: AI-generated or manually.
Creating AI-Powered Quizzes
- In “My Library”, open “All Materials”, “All Books”, or “Original Books” in the left panel to locate the book.
- In the “Front of Book” tab, go to “Settings” and check “Generate and show AI-powered self-assessments for each chapter of this book”.
- At the top of the page, select “Options” → “Preview”.
- From the left-side menu, open the “Quizzes”. All chapters will be listed.
Select a chapter, then choose “Generate questions” from the “Add questions” drop-down menu. - When generation is complete, a message will appear: “Questions generated. Refresh the questions.”
Adding Questions Manually
- Go to “Options” (at the top of the page) → “Preview”.
- In the left-side menu, select the “Quizzes”.
- Choose a chapter and add questions manually. Supported types: single-choice, true/false.
- Manually added questions must be approved after creation.
- Content owners can edit, delete, or hide questions at any time.
Notes:
- If the setting “Generate and show questions automatically after publication” is enabled, quizzes will be generated for all chapters at the time of publishing.
- The number of generated questions and processing time depend on chapter size and content.
- AI-generated questions do not require approval.
- Authors can choose how many questions (1–20) are shown to readers.
